wowowee disaster

tangna. tragedy. more than 60 people dead in a stampede incident this morning at ULtra hours before the opening of wowowee's first year anniversary show. the last bomb attacks here in zamboanga city have killed less. The prizes, the money. the chance to win. what power. all the program wanted was to make people happy, at least. and all the people wanted was to get a shot at that happiness, at least. Foresight is what they lacked, they didn't have. perhaps the people behind didn't anticipate this to happen. this has happened before, last year during a concert and someone has been killed. how could have they missed the thought? how can one not get nervous of a crowd of thousands where in everyone wants the same thing? i've always believed filipinos has the gift for tolerance. we have a high tolerance against pain and suffering. i;ve never seen any people who can withstand pain as well as we can. we never break, i even doubt if we even bend. now i doubt it is more of a gift rather than a brain disease. a fool's paradise, ang buhay na parang komiks (tang ina sinong nag sabi?), and somehow the tv and media have made it much worse. why should we grieve of death if death is an everyday scene? this is not something new, good news can confuse us more than bad news can. i woke up and saw people smiling and waving on the camera while a caption read, "61 patay sa stampede sa ultra!" as they make that wowowee hand move. i dont know what to think. and i thought i was crazy.
