i agree. the expedition wouldn't have made such an impression if it had not been turned into a localized race between two warring networks. firstly, about 1800 other climbers have already reached everest peak, from hundreds of different countries, from all kinds of people, from a blind, a handicapped to a 15 year old and a 75 year old grandpa! the most we could have had was perhaps a live coverage on the day of the triumph and headline news in papers and televisions. but not as though we have just had our first filipino astronaut (noypinaut?) landing and stepping on mars! or the moon at least.

i firmly believe this is very much a perfect example of filipino crab mentality or something close to it at work and for the whole world to see. and it seems that the rivalry between the two networks is starting to look more and more like a soriano vs iglesia ni kristo feud.
